Spyware Installation Prevention

using Spyware Blaster

As a general rule before performing any of the below procedures make sure important documents are saved and applications are closed.

Update Spyware Blaster every 2 weeks.

Open this program up by double clicking on the icon in the Maintenance folder on the desktop.  When the application opens, click on Updates on the left hand side then click on the Check for Updates button.

You will then see a screen similar to the below.

When the updating is complete, click on Enable Protection for all Unprotected Items.

Make sure by the Internet Explorer line that it says 0 (zero) items have protection disabled.  Otherwise click on Enable All Protection.

Occasionally when doing updates (approx. every 6 months) you will get see the below information.  If so that means a new version of Spyware Blaster is available, so click on the link to go to the developer’s website and download the new version.  Once downloaded uninstall the old version through Add/Remove Programs and then install the new version and make sure to do the Updates once the new version is installed.  Once all updating and/or enabling is complete just click on the X in the upper right hand corner.
